Can you really finish a dissertation with a broken heart?

My girlfriend and I just broke up a few days ago and my world feels like it has stopped spinning. I am supposed to be in the final stages of writing my paper, but I cannot even think straight. I just sit at my desk, stare at my screen, and feel completely empty inside. My advisor wants a full draft by Friday. I started looking for dissertation help Birmingham because I honestly do not know how I am going to write anything coherent right now. Has anyone else gone through this while trying to graduate?
